This was one of the longest trips I’ve ventured on. It started with a long drive to St. George Utah, where I met up with the Road Scholars group. On the way there, I stopped for some hiking in Fire Canyon, a red rocks Nevada State Park just outside of Las Vegas. The trip first hiked through Snow Canyon State Park, in pouring rain, and then went on to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. The scenery and hiking were fantastic in all three. After the trip ended, I meandered off to Kanab Utah in the hopes of getting a permit for The Wave – once again, I failed on that, but I did hire a guide to hike through another incredible feature, The White Pocket. A worthwhile effort and a great trip overall.
