Expanding the Photo Gallery to new heights

A stunning night sky filled with stars above a rugged rock formation, illuminated with warm hues of red and orange.

August 3rd, 2026

Is it really August already? This year seems to crawl along, and then I look at the calendar and realize we are more than half way through the year. Only five more planned trips to go this year.

I have a large, two story open wall in my entry way, that was screaming for some art work or photos. Jan had wanted to create a triptych photo made for that space, but we never got around to it, and I was having a hard time figuring out what landscape image could be split into three sections. After working on some of the astrophotography images from the Arches National Park workshop, I decided to create three big acrylics, and mount those on the wall. I did all the measuring a month ago, and even placed the mounting nails, all done on a sturdy ladder. I really need to be careful when I’m up there, given my degraded sense of balance. I survived. I also added two spotlights on the loft to highlight the images…Google controlled of course (Hey Google, turn on the spotlight).

The final print arrived today, and I mounted it this morning. I’m amazed that I measured everything correctly. How’s that adage go..measure twice, cut (or drill) once. I’m pleased with the end result.

Three framed photographs of rocky landscapes under starry skies, featuring clouds and the Milky Way.

There’s still a lot of room above those pictures…all I’d need is some scaffolding, and I can add another layer. Or install climbing ropes so I can swap photos once in a while. It could happen.

Max did a poor job of centering the picture

Peace

Note: The Prev/Next links unfortunately will simply bring up posts which are chronologically in order, and may not be in the same group you were browsing. I’m working on that. For now, the buttons below will at least bring you back to the category you were interested in. Sorry about that.

is it just me or does Aperture seem as if he should be by your side in real life? Maybe AI is funded by the nearest dog shelter and works on getting pups placed by inserting them as virtual companions until it just seams as if you need the real thing. I would definitely pup sit for free while you are traveling- just saying!

Great photos – nice for you to get them on display in your house! Cheers, Cassi B
